ROBERTS
MONTICELLO (WHITE COUNTY) - Miss Grace Roberts, 72, of 305 East Ohio
street,
died Thursday in White County Memorial hospital where she had been admitted
about an hour earlier. She was stricken after she arose Thursday morning
and never regained consciousness. Born at Monticello, she was graduated
from Indiana Univerity and the University of Washington. Miss Roberts,
who retired as a school teacher six years ago, taught for 35 years starting
at North Salem and coming to Monticello in 1943. A member of Monticello
Presbyterian church, she was active in church organizations and assisted
in the work of the White County Tuberculosis association. Surviving are
two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Staggs, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. Marjorie
Vandermulen of Port Jefferson, N.Y., and a brother, Frank Roberts of Monticello.
