Funeral services were held this Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the Burnettsville
Baptist Church for Manford Houser, 75, of Burnettsville,who was found dead
at his home Saturday. Death was attributed to a heart attack at his home
about midnight Friday. Funeral rites were conducted by the Rev. Virden
Graham assisted by the Rev. J.E. Douglas. Burial was made in the Davis
cemetery.
Born in White County Sept. 16, 1885, he was the son of Samuel and Catherine
(Bishop) Houser. His marriage was to Clara Ballard, who died in 1957. Houser
was sexton at the Davis cemetery and a member of the Burnettsville Baptist
church. Surviving are two sons, Dale and Fred, both of route 2, Delphi;
four daughters, Mrs. Mabel Brandt, Mrs. Velma Hall, both of Monticello;
MRs. Lena Martin, Delphi; and Mrs. Beulah Rynearson Rochester; 42 grandchildren,
27 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Price, Metea; Mrs. Myrtle
Cowgill, Coloma, Mich., Mrs. Opha Roller, Burnettsville. Four sons are
deceased. The Fisher funeral home of Logansport was in charge. Died: July
1, 1961
