GINNY: Point the way and I will follow. John Davis s/o Abel DAvis (considered a brother of Benjamin) purchased land in White Co., IN in 1835 from Joseph H. Thompson. In the deed John identified himself as "John Davis of the County of Hardy in VA". Don't know the reason sine his parents, Abel & Mary Davis lived in present day Taylor Co., WV. near Grafton. It must be about 70 miles as the crow flies from Hardy Co. to Taylor Co. It's possible that Mary returned to her parents home to give birth but thats only guess work. Some believe that Mary was a Huffman.
The Burget, Burket,
Burkett and other spellings may tie in as Michael Burkett of PA & VA also creeps into my family history.
Hi,
There are no listings for any Brunton in the White County Cemetery
All Name Index. There are a few Inskeeps - they are all buried at
Riverview Cemetery - Interesting that one of the Inskeep's is George
Turner Inskeep (born 1852) - same Turner ancestry as 'your' Julia
Turner Inskeep? There are several Turner's buried in White County,
but would need first names attached to look up! Let me know if you
would like the Inskeep listings.
Good luck!

I was wondering if anyone could do a lookup to see what Brunton's are buried in White Co. I have recently discovered a branch that went to White co. from Tippecanoe Co. they were also part of the Inskeep family (Julia Turner Inskeep was their mother). Many thanks for those that can help.
