My apologies for the late reply. I totally missed this once the weather got warm &
drew me to outdoor activities.
I appreciate your taking all the time to look-up & transcribe the census info.
I'd found all the censuses you've got here as well as the WV site. I wish more
states had similar sites; a few do but most don't.
Military records - a direct descendancy, as noted, is needed which for me isn't the
case here. Too, that fire that happened in the 1970 wiped out a lot of records. I really
don't need Fredrick's records as I've had good luck finding most of his
service in on line databases.
I also found husband Fredrick's military burial records - buried first in ME where he
died & then when the Army turned over Ft. McKinley in Portsmouth, NH to another
military branch & civilian use, the soldiers buried there were disinterred & moved
to other cemeteries. Frederick Warwick's interment forms were full of info inc. his
place of birth, DOB; his remains were moved from to Long Island Nat. Cemetery.
I've also picked databases clean for Elvira & her siblings unless I learn some
German & borrow some FHL films. Her father's will images can be found in the NY
databases on Family Search but her mother remains MIA. There was an acrimonious divorce
between her parents & she and her siblings weren't left in their mother's care
after their father died.
I've found some teaser snippets on
newspaperarchive.com but don't have a
subscription there & the bits aren't obits, marriages, etc. but just the mundane
stuff of the day from several decades past like Mrs. so & so was the dinner guest of
her sister & husband Saturday night or so & so attended the bridal shower of Miss
so & so...stuff like that. Nothing I'd want to spend the money for a subscription
on.
Mostly by hopefully finding descendants of Elvira I can learn a couple of things such as
if anyone knows what happened to her mother; where the siblings were bet. 1905 & 1915
and when did sister Aurora die-where's she buried-did she have any children w/ her 2nd
husband, John Henry Valendick? If someone had old photos of the Kessel siblings or
their parents that they were willing to scan & share, that would be a bonus!
Much of what I'm seeking now on Kessel & Warwick is the tough stuff that may or
may not be on line somewhere in some non Ancestry/non Family Search database or only
within the knowledge of someone in the family.
Thanks again for taking a stab at this.
