"The Presbyterian Church of Fredonia was organized Sept 29, 1810......In December,
1819, the society was formed under statute. ....Six others were then elected: John Crane,
Benjamon Douglas, Henry Abell, Thomas G. Abell, Solomon Hinkley, Harbey Durkee."
Page 602 states: Watson S. Hinkley is son of Solomon Hinkley who was "born in
Barnstable, Mass and was a descendant in the fourth degree from Thomas Hinkley of
Barnstable, governor of Plymouth Colony, the last eleven year of its colonial
existence."
