Last Wednesday evening at 7:30 o'clock occurred the marriage of Miss Mate J.
Johnson to Mr. Frank M. Beaty, two of Ossian's most charming and estimable young
people, at the home of the bride on Main and Mill streets. Invited guests filled the
house to the number of sixty, including the parents, brothers and sisters, uncles and
aunts, the N. O. D. club and a limited number of friends.
THE DECORATIONS
were artistic and in perfect harmony with the occasion. The parlor where the ceremony was
preformed was festooned in cream, profusely decorated with bridal roses and
chrysanthemums. One corner was converted into a richly embellished arch for the reception
of the bride and groom.
At 7:30 o'clock with Miss Maggie Doan at the piano, the soft strains of the
Wedding March announced to the guests the approach of the procession, which was formed in
the following order: Rev. Edward Campbell, the bride's pastor, joined at the entrance
by the Rev. Schuyler C. Norris, the groom's pastor, then came
THE GROOM

bridal roses. After a prayer by Rev. Norris
THE CEREMONY
was pronounced by Rev. Campbell which was beautiful and impressive. After the ceremony,
Miss Grace Wilson advanced in behalf of the N. O. D. Club, of which the bride is a member,
and read a delightful paper which left the assembly in excellent humor for the delicious
lap supper that followed, served in three courses, at the conclusion of which, the guests
were treated to vocal and instrumental music and various suitable enjoyments.
THE INVITED GUESTS
from a distance were Mr. Curt Johnson, of Mt, Ayr, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Clark Beaty, of
Sheldon; and Mr. and Mrs. John R. Gardiner, of Bluffton.
THE PRESENTS
were costly and numerous, and showed excellent taste in their selection.
The News joins their hosts of friends in extending the heartiest congratulations and
best wishes.
