Hi Tom, and to others who are interested,
Wonderful! If you can scan them, that is the most preferred
method. I would suggest 24-bit color scans of 100-200
dpi. Alternately, high resolution digital photos that show the
detail are acceptable. Any normal file format should be fine (JPG,
BMP, TIF), and I'll tweak it on this end, so don't worry about
getting the file size or image size down. A copy of the title page
is always nice because it helps to authenticate the Bible for people
who are real sticklers at their genealogical sources.
Attaching scans or digital photos to an email is fine -- my limit is
25 megabytes, though, so if it's more than that, let me know in
advance when you're going to do it so I can download them little by little.
Also, if there are any handwritten pages tucked in the Bible, those
can sometimes have some good genealogical info on them, so if you
think it's anything that could be of interest to others, go ahead and
include those, as well.
If you don't have a way to scan or take digital photos, you can snail
mail photocopies to me, or transcribe the information and email it to
me. Let me know if you need my mailing address.
Thanks, and I look forward to adding more Bibles to the website!

Cathy,
I, too, have some family Bibles for the Stair family
line. There have been Stairs in Wells Co. for sixty years,
following the marriage of my parents. My Stair grandparents then
moved to Bluffton and lived out the remainder of their lives in
Wells Co. How would you like us to go about scanning and
submitting this information?
