Evelyn D. Eaton
A native of Wells County, Evelyn D. Eaton of Hartford City died at 12:23 p.m. Thursday,
Dec. 16 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after an extended illness.
She was a 1941 graduate of Van Buren High School and the daughter of the late Roy R. and
Blanche Cochran Alexander. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church and a member and past
president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Eaton on Dec. 7, 1982 and twin
brothers Leon G. and Leo Alexander.
Surviving are a son, Glenn E. Eaton of Hartford City, a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Connie E.)
Gaby of Argos, two sisters, Eloise Runkle of Plymouth and Helen James of Upland and one
grandchild.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Waters Funeral Home in Hartford City with
Pastor Richard Dickson presiding. Burial will be at the Hartford City Cemetery. Calling at
the funeral home will be Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. and for one hour prior to services on
Monday.
Preferred memorials are to the Ball Memorial Hospital Foundation, Inc.
Blake Charles Thomas
Blake Charles Thomas, the infant son of Kevin C. and Rebekah M. Kaylor Thomas of Fort
Wayne, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14 at Riley Children's Hospital in
Indianapolis.
He was born Aug. 17, 2004 in Indianapolis.
Other survivors include maternal grandparents Robert and Martha Kaylor of Decatur and
paternal grandparents Jerry and Carolyn Thomas of Anderson; maternal great grandmother
Dorothy Kaylor of North Manchester and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Lincolnshire Church of the
Brethren at 6404 S. Calhoun St. in Fort Wayne with Pastor Jerry Ashworth officiating and
burial at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson.
Calling at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home at 6131 St. Joe Road in Fort Wayne will be
Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Marguerite E. Roth, 85
Former Bluffton resident Marguerite E. Roth, 85, Columbia City, died at midnight,
Thursday, Dec. 16 at Miller's Merry Manor in Columbia City.
Born in Dixon, Ohio on June 7, 1919 to Clarence and Rose Ellen Beatty Zinn, she married
Harry Roth on Nov. 6, 1943 in Fort Wayne; he died. Nov. 11, 1962. She worked at Franklin
Electric in Bluffton for 19 years, retiring in 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Roth of Ossian and Mr. James (Sheryl) Hedges of
Fort Wayne; a son, Jerry Roth of Columbia City; five grandchildren; and two great
grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, with
Rev. Chad Clark officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Ruth M. Niblick, 87
Ruth M. Niblick, 87, Bluffton, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 at Bluffton Regional
Medical Center.
Born in Bluffton on April 8, 1917 to Orville L. and Inez O. Strahm Paxson, she married
Dwight "Steve" Niblick on Sept. 14, 1949 in Bluffton; he survives.
A 1935 graduate of Lancaster High School, she was a homemaker and a member of the First
United Church of Christ.
Other survivors include a son, Steven Niblick of Crawfordsville; three daughters, Patricia
Lockwood of Bluffton, Susan Toppin of Naples, Fla., and Rebecca Touchout of Anna Maria,
Fla.; a sister, Doris Fisher of Prairie Village, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and three great
grandchildren.
Visitation hours are today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, with
services there Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Neil Wilson and Rev. Walter Graeflin
officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Cierra Thomas, Infant
One-month old Cierra Nichole Thomas of 913 West Market St., died unexpectedly at home at
10:57 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18.
Born Nov. 14, 2004 to Tim and Crystal Payton Thomas in Bluffton, she is survived by her
parents, a brother, Brandon Thomas; grandparents, John and Cheryl Thomas, Bonnie Humphrey,
and Bob Payton,all of Bluffton; great grandparents, William and Freda Bennett of Bluffton;
and great-great grandparents, Verna Ross and Martha Humphrey, both of Bluffton.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney
Funeral Home, with calling there from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will
be in Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Brandon Thomas Educational Fund.
Gloria S. Nelson, 79
Former Bluffton resident Gloria S. Nelson, 79, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, Dec. 16.
Born Jan. 30, 1925 in Alexandria to George A. and Lois Gaunt Swisher, she grew up in
Bluffton and attended both DePauw and Indiana Universities. She was the society page
editor for the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Nelson Fain of Los Angeles, Calif., and Anne
Nelson of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; two sons, Reid Nelson of Austin, Texas and Jon Nelson of
Wilmette, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by D.
O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home in Fort Wayne.

Elia "Linda" Regino, 53
An employee for 20 years at Kitco, Elia H. (Linda) Regino, 53, of 1206 West South St.,
died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21 at Lutheran Hospital.
Born July 20, 1951 in Wells County to Ted and Aurora Robles Rosales, her marriage on Nov.
7, 1970 in Bluffton was to Manuel Regino, who survives. She attended St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Bluffton.
In addition to the husband, also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Xochitl Ann) Cruz of
Bluffton, a sister, Diane M. Garcia of Bluffton and one grandchild.
Calling at Goodwin Memorial Chapel today is from 2 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held
at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Dale Bauman officiating and
burial in Six Mile Cemetery.
Preferred memorials to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Kathryn A. "Kitty" Bonham, 76
A former resident of Bluffton, Kathryn A. "Kitty" Bonham, 76, died Sunday, Dec.
19 at her home in Reston, Va., after a short battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 13, 1928 in Fort Wayne to Dr. Joy and Winifred Buckner, she was a graduate of
Bluffton High School in 1946 and a 1950 graduate of Indiana University with a degree in
education and fine arts. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Her marriage at her parents' home in Bluffton in 1950 was to Robert W. Bonham Jr., who
died in December of 1986. They lived in Hartford City, where he practiced law until his
death.
Mrs. Bonham was a former mayor of Hartford City and was a member of the Indiana
Standardbred Board of Regulations and a founder and longtime publisher of The Hoosier
Horse Review, a monthly newspaper focused on harness racing. She was a fourth-generation
horsewoman and owned and bred standardbred horses which raced throughout the midwest.
She was among a group of Blackford County businessmen and women who purchased the
Montpelier fairgrounds and track in 1985 for use as a harness training facility and local
park. She joined the staff at Hoosier Park in Anderson in 1994 and served the past decade
as Horseman Relations Manager during both harness and thoroughbred race meets.
A recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash award from former Gov. Robert Orr, she was
active in numerous civic, charitable and social organizations, including the vestry at St.
Paul's Episcopal Church in Gas City, Tri Kappa, National Society Daughters of the
American Revolution, and several local literacy and social organizations. She was a
frequent delegate to the Indiana Republican State Convention and served as Blackford
County chair for several Republican statewide candidates. Her stint as mayor of Hartford
City was from 1990-1991. She was elected as a Hartford City councilwoman in 1987.
Surviving are a son, Rob Bonham of Reston, Va., a sister, Caroline Newell of Bluffton and
three nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce
Buckner Thompson, formerly of Warren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Robert D. Loose
Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd Street in Anderson, with visitation
for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Harness Horse Youth
Foundation or the donor's favorite charity.

Joseph Kueberth, 75
Services for Joseph A. Kueberth, 75, of Severna Park, Md., will be held at 10 a.m. Monday
at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home in Bluffton. Mr. Kueberth died
unexpectedly at 2:15 p.m. Thursday at the home of his cousin, Diane Humphrey, of
Bluffton.
Born May 31, 1929 in Baltimore, Md. to A. Raymond and Teresa Schaefer Kueberth, he worked
in the space program industry, retiring from the Bendix Co. He was a graduate of Mt. St.
Joseph High School in Baltimore and a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Severna
Park He was a frequent visitor in Bluffton.
In addition to Ms. Humphrey, he is survived by several other cousins, including Patricia
Schaefer of Muncie. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Kueberth.
Calling hours are Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., with a prayer service at the funeral home at 4
p.m. Services will be conducted by Father Dale Bauman; burial will be in Elm Grove
Cemetery.
Georgia F. Reber, 96
Georgia F. Reber, 96, Muncie, died after a sudden illness Tuesday, Dec. 21 at Ball
Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Born in Wells County on May 22, 1908, she later moved to Muncie and graduated from Muncie
Central High School in 1927. She married Donald Reber; he died in October, 1974.
Mrs. Reber continued as owner and an officer of Reber Machine and Tool Co., a business
founded by her husband.
Survivors include three sons; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 11 :30 a.m. at Meeks Mortuary in Muncie, with interment in
Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Calling hours are Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m.
