Hi Joann,
Thank you to all who have taken an interest in my brick wall. I really
appreciate input from you.
Joann, I have also seen that posting, but I do not believe it to be
accurate. I do not think Danial remarried to Barbara's sister, Julia Ann.
Danial's death certificate lists his wife at death as Susan Raredon, and
they married 19 Dec 1901 in Henry Co. IN. I have Barbara dying 7 Dec 1896 in
Henry Co., but I can not find any evidence of that in Henry Co Records or
newspapers. Actually that may be the posting that got me to thinking that
Barbara was buried in Batson Cemetery Wells Co. I really wished I had looked
more closely at the headstones when I was at Batson Cemetery Henry Co. I do
not have pictures of Danial's grave. His death certificate says he was
buried at Batson in Henry Co. I have Barbara's brother Amos Herring married
to Eliza Banter. Amos and Barbara HERRING were born in Ohio, according to
several census'
I had forgotten that the Julia Ann posting also said that Barbara and Danial
were buried in Wells Co., that is interesting.
Oh, I just saw the marriage date for Danial and Julia, 5 Oct 1898, so that
actually could be correct, 2 years after Barbara died and 3 years before the
marriage to Susan Raredon. Hmmmmmmm. Where is Grant Co., the location of
the marriage of daniel and Julia Ann Herring?
Okay, I just dug out a copy of the family group sheet hand printed by an
ancestor, unfortunately the name and date are cut off, but it is a g
grandson to Daniel. This lists wife #1 as Barbara Herring, wife #2 as Julia
JEFFERIES and wife #3 as Susan RAREDON.....there you go. This sheet also
clearly states buriel place for Daniel and Barbara as Batson Cemetery, Henry
Co. It gives no other info on Julia JEFFERIES nor Susan, maybe because they
are not direct line ancestors?? SOurces on this family group sheet are
"husband and wife-birth and death dates-gravemarker and
Henry Co. Ind. Marriage Records.
Sooooo, I am puzzeled why no death record for Barbara Herring in 1896, and
no notice in the newspapers. I'm still thinking Barbara did not die in Henry
Co., but is probably buried in Henry Co. And I guess the above mentioned
posting of a marriage to Julia Ann HERRING may be correct. So who are the
parents of Amos, Julia Ann and Barbara HERRING? I see on
Ancestry.com they
may be Barney HERRING and Hannah Fisher with no documentation.
THANKS again for all your help!
Regards,
Beth Zaring

Beth,
I found the following information on ancestry.com...If this is the case,
after Barbara died, Daniel married her sister, Julia Ann Herring. Also,
according to this , Daniel and Barbara are buried in Wells Co. Of course,
it is possible this hasn't been fully documented.
I'll try to do some more digging....
Joann
