Mrs. Harry Toms Dies at Hospital
Mrs. Nancy Ann Toms, 73, of Poneto, died at 2:15 p.m. Thursday at the Wells county
hospital. Death was attributed to complications following an illness of four months. She
had been a patient at the hospital two and one-half weeks.
She was born in Wells county on Oct. 27, 1876, a daughter of T. J. and Ellen Gallivan. Her
marriage in Bluffton on Nov. 1, 1898, was to Harry H. Toms, who survives.
A lifelong resident of Wells county, the decedent was a member of the St. Joseph's
Catholic church in Bluffton.
Surviving in addition to the husband are three sons, LaVaughn Toms, of Fort Recovery, O.,
Leonard Toms, of Bluffton, and Raymond Toms, of East Sparta, O.; a sister, Mrs. Hannah
Herbert, of Tampa, Fla., eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The body was removed to the Thoma funeral home where it will remain until time for
services.
