Mrs. Aeschliman Claimed by Death
Death of Mrs. Simon Aeschliman Occurs This Forenoon; Rites Saturday
Mrs. Elizabeth Aeschliman, 83, wife of Simon Aeschliman, died at 11:45 a.m. today at her
home, four miles east of Bluffton on state road 124. Death was due to pneumonia following
an illness of nine weeks during which she had been in bed suffering from a fracture of a
hip.
Born in November 1858, in Wayne county, O., the decedent was the daughter of Urich and
Barbara Ruff Frauhiger. She had resided in Wells county most of her life. Her first
marriage in 1875 was to Ulrich Neuenschwander, who is deceased, and her second marriage to
Mr. Aeschliman was in 1881.
Mrs. Charles Overmier, of this city, who died recently, was a daughter by the first
marriage.
Surviving are the husband, two sons, William Aeschliman, of Decatur and Noah Aeschliman,
near Bluffton; six daughters, Mrs. Albert Heyerly, near Decatur, Mrs. Raymond Overmier, of
Louisiana, Mrs. Fred Fiechter, of Craigville, Mrs. Ezra Reinhard, north of Bluffton, Mrs.
Joe L. Isch and Mrs. Reuben Gerber, both of near Bluffton, two stepsons, Joseph
Aeschliman, near Decatur, and Daniel Aeschliman, near Bluffton; a stepdaughter, Mrs.
Elizabeth Ebnit, of Vera Cruz; and a brother John Frauhiger, of this city. Two sons and
three brothers are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the home and at 10 a.m. at the
Apostolic Christian Church, of which Mrs. Aeschliman was a member. Burial will be in the
church cemetery.
