Good morning Lynda,Last year you wrote, "I have a Josuah or Josah McCullick (b. Apr
1823) married Jerusha Hartly Miller in Wells cty, IN 12/10/1846. I do not know if this
Josiah is related to your John and family. Can you help?"I just read your message and
the short answer is that John and Josiah / Joshua / Josah were probably brothers.
Unfortunately, I have little more to share with you about Josiah / Joshua / Josah
McCULLICK. According to the bio-sketches on Henry Clay McCULLICK found in the IN GenWeb
Wells County website, Henry McCULLICK, Jr. was born in 1795 in either Maryland or
Pennsylvania. He and Martha TWIBELL were either married or had their marriage recorded in
Tyler County, Virginia / West Virginia on July 12, 1820. They lived in both Taylor and
Tyler Counties in Virginia until 1830. The Tyler County 1830 Federal Census (page 178a)
lists 3 McCULLOUGH households.... 1 has Jane as the head of household, while the other 2
list Alexander and Henry. I am fairly ce!
rtain these are our McCULLICKs. In Blackford County, Indiana's, North Twibell
Cemetery there is a group of McCULLICK graves. One of them is Jane McCULLICK's, and
her stone states she is the wife of Henry McCULLICK, Sr. I believe this is probably Henry
McCULLICK, Jr.'s, mother --- and the same Jane listed as a head of household in the
1830 Tyler County census. In this census, there were 8 people listed in Henry McCULLICK,
Jr.'s, household: 2 males in the 0 - 5 year range, 1 male in the 16 - 20 yr. range, 1
male in the 31 - 40 yr. range; 2 females in the 0 - 5 yr. range, 1 female in the 6 - 10
yr. range, and 1 female in the 31 - 40 yr. range.Shortly after the Tyler County census in
1830, the family moved to Ohio where they lived for some 5 years. In the fall of 1835,
they began their journey to Wells County, Indiana. Chester Township became Henry, Jr.,
and Martha's final home.As far as I can tell, at this time, Martha and Henry, Jr., had
at least 13 children: RachelElizab!
