Hello,
I would suggest that you try contacting the cemetery office or the caretaker of the IOOF
cemetery in Brookstone, IN, where Millar Brown is buried. The cemetery records on each of
the people buried in more recent years (like Millar since he died in 1963) usually contain
information regarding the cause of death. It also indicates what funeral home handled the
burial. So, if the cemetery doesn't have the infromation that you are looking for,
you can try contacting the funeral home. Their information usually includes the cause of
death.
If you have a transcription of those people buried at the IOOF cemetery, the transcription
might include the name and location of the funeral home who handled the burial services;
some of the transcriptions do.
In lieu of that, since he dies in Bluffton, I would suggest calling the funeral homes in
Bluffton to see if they handled a portion of his care before being transported to
Brookstone for burial. There aren't that many funeral homes in Bluffton.
I had an infant son who died in New Jersey and he was buried in Massachusetts. The
funeral home in New Jersey handled all of the arrangements including transporting and the
burial in Massachusetts.
I hope this helps. Good luck in your search.
