Mrs. Stella Grove Markley, 60, a lifelong resident of Wells county, died at 10:30 Tuesday
night at her home one-half mile east of Keystone, following an illness of nine months.
Death was due to complications.
The decedent was born April 1, 1883, at Poneto, to Lewis and Josephine Stahl Grove, who
are deceased. She was married Aug. 14, 1902, at Poneto, to Charles D. Markley, who
survives.
Surviving besides the husband are a son, Lewis Markley, of Bluffton; two daughters, Mrs.
Claude Barnes of Petroleum, and Mrs. Charleen Markley, at home; two brothers, Fred Grove,
of Bluffton, and Gus Grove, of Stillwater, Okla., and eight grandchildren. Two brothers,
Horatio and Charles Grove, and a sister, Mrs. Belle Kindlesparger, are deceased.
Mrs. Markley was a member of the Methodist church, at Poneto.
The body was taken from McBride & Son funeral home this afternoon to the residence.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church, Keystone. Burial will be in the Six
Mile cemetery.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday.
