A sister of Virgil Huffman of Poneto, Mrs. Clark (Gertrude) Godwin, 79, of Celina, O., was
dead on arrival at a hospital in St. Mary's O., at 12:41 p.m. Tuesday. Death has been
attributed to a heart attack.
A member of the Gospel Mission Church at St. Mary's, Mrs. Godwin was born in Wells
County Nov. 25, 1900 to Joseph P. and Hester Ann Stahl Huffman. Her marriage to Clark
Godwin, who survives, took place Feb. 8, 1922.
Surviving in addition to the husband and brother at Poneto, are seven sons, Ralph, Robert
and Harry Godwin of Celina, O., Joseph Godwin of New Orleans, La., and Clarence, James and
Richard Godwin of Mendon, O., 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Calling will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the W. H. Dick and Sons Funeral
Home in Mendon, O., with services there at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Stahl
Cemetery in Wells County.
