John Uptgraft, 65, a lifelong resident of Wells County died at 5:10 a.m. today at his home
in Keystone, following an illness of six years from heart trouble.
Born Dec. 6, 1887, in Nottingham township, the decedent was the son of Arthur and Martha
Blair Uptgraft. His marriage at Nottingham was to Myrtle Evans in
April, 1906. Mr. Uptgraft was employed at the Keystone elevator and he was a member of the
I. O. O. F. lodge at Petroleum.
Survivors include the widow: two sons, Gerald Uptgraft, of Hartford City and Paul
Uptgraft, of Marion: a daughter, Mrs. Etta Heller, of Marion: two grandchildren, Jean
Heller and Ronald Uptgraft, and two brothers, Charles, of Keystone route 1 and Sherman
Uptgraft, of Drumright, Okla. One brother is deceased.
The body will be taken from the Jahn funeral home to the residence.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Keystone Methodist church in charge
of Rev. Glendenning and Rev. Collett. Burial will be in the Alberson cemetery.
