William L. Studabaker, 85, died at 1 p.m. today at the home of a son, Harry Studabaker,
three miles south of Bluffton on Hoosier highway, following an illness of complications
from infirmities of age.
Born April 4, 1857 in Wells County, the decedent was the son of Abram and Louisa DeWitt
Studabaker. His marriage, Jan. 1, 1878 in Wells County was to Mariah Markley whose death
occurred June 13, 1928. Mr. Studabaker was a retired farmer.
Surviving are three sons, Harry Studabaker, south of Bluffton, Clem Studabaker, of
Constantine, Mich., and Albert Studabaker of Los Angeles, Calif; a daughter, Mrs. Effie
Rathburn, of Garret; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and five sisters, Mrs.
Jane Carter, of Marion, Mrs. Abbie Bowman, Decatur, Mrs. Ida Helms, of Elwood, Mrs.
Lillian Baumgartner, of South Whitley, and Mrs. Minnie Huffman, near Bluffton. A daughter,
a son, a sister, Mrs. Harriet French, and two brothers, John D. and Noah Studabaker, are
deceased.
The body will remain at the Jahn funeral home until time foe the funeral services.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Six Mile Congregation Christian Church, of
which Mr. Studabaker was the oldest member, in charge of Rev. Gerald Martin. Burial will
be in the church cemetery.
