Verlin Norris, 86
The grandfather of Rex Townsend of Bluffton, Verlin R. Norris, 86, of Hartford City, died
Saturday, Sept. 11 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Keplinger Funeral Home in Hartford City,
with visitation there Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday for two hours
prior to the service.
Donna Bole, 54
Services for Donna L. (McIlwain) Bole, 54, of Hartford City, will be held Thursday at 10
a.m. at the Keplinger Funeral Home in Hartford City. Mrs. Bole died Sunday, Sept. 12 at
Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after a brief illness.
A 1968 graduate of Montpelier High School, she was a homemaker and former owner-operator
of Herbs-R-Us in Hartford City.
Survivors include her husband, Allen L. Bole; a son, Les Bole; and a daughter, Amy Lathem;
and four grandchildren, all of Hartford City.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. and for two hours prior to the
service on Thursday. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery in Wells County.

Mona J. Bowman, 71
A native of Poneto, Mona J. Bowman, 71, of LaGrange, died at 6:46 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12,
in the emergency room at Cameron Hospital in Angola.
Born in Poneto on Dec. 25, 1932, she married Jerry Bowman March 24, 1951. He survives.
For many years she owned the Turkey Lake Sandwich Shop.
Additional survivors include sons Rick Bowman of Bluffton, Gregory Bowman of Mt. Pass,
Calif., and Jeffrey and Tracy Bowman, both at home; four sisters, Eileen Hatch, Irene
Kirkwood, and Diana Kummer, all of Bluffton, and Kay Foreman of Liberty Center; a brother,
Terry Onweller, of Bluffton; and five grandchildren.
Services at 11 a.m. Thursday will be at Johnson Funeral Home, Hudson, with Rev. Ken Ludwig
officiating. Burial will follow at Wright Cemetery.
Calling at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
Sally McNamara, 87—Rites Pending
Sally McNamara, 87, of Markle, died at 9:45 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13, at Harborside
Healthcare Center in New Haven. Arrangements are pending at Myers Funeral Home, Markle
Chapel.
Donna M. Howe, 57
Sister of Gaylord Howe of Bluffton, Donna M. Howe, 57, died at Parkview Memorial Hospital
in Fort Wayne Sunday, Sept. 12.
She was born in Fort Wayne to Waveland W. and Mary Howe. Her mother survives.
She was retired after 38 years of service to Lincoln Life Insurance.
Additional survivors include a son, Chris Howe, of New Haven; two other brothers, Marvin
Howe of Fort Wayne and Ivan Howe of Decatur; a sister, Maxine Bailey of Gobles, Mich.
Services at 11 a.m. Thursday will be at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling at the funeral home will be from 2 to 5
p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Allen County.

Sally McNamara, 87
A former resident of Logan Street in Markle, Sally McNamara, 87, of New Haven, died at
9:45 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2004, at the Harborside Healthcare Center in New
Haven.
Mrs. McNamara was a member of the United Baptist Church in Barbourville, Ky. She had
worked as a waitress and cook at several establishments in the Fort Wayne area. She also
had worked at the Seyfert's Potato Chips facility in Fort Wayne.
Born Feb. 23, 1917, in Knox County, Ky., she was a daughter of Samuel and Mattie Gilbert
Warren.
Surviving are a brother, John R. Warren of Bluffton; a sister, Shirley Allen of Mt.
Sterling, Ky.; a special friend, Bill Williams of Ossian; 13 grandchildren, 13
great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Bill McNamara and Fred Sprankles; a daughter,
Elizabeth Busick; an infant son, John R. McNamara; two brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, where
services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be in the Markle Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Riley’s Hospital for Children in care of the funeral home.
Mary Jane Lesh, 91
A retired 38-year school teacher in Bluffton-Harrison and Columbia City schools, Mary Jane
Lesh, 91, of North Webster, died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004, at Mason
Health Care in North Webster.
Born May 20, 1913, in Bluffton, she was the daughter of Herman and Marie McAfee Lesh. She
never married.
A resident of North Webster since 1948, she was a member of the North Webster United
Methodist Church, the Delta Kappa Gamma teacher’s sorority and the Whitley County Retired
Teachers Association.
Surviving are a niece, Patricia Powell of O’Fallon, Missouri, five nephews and a
great-great niece. A brother preceded her in death.
There will be no visitation. Private services are under arrangements by the
Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Syracuse, Ind. Burial will be in Bluffton. Memorials to
North Webster United Methodist Church.
Jack W. Huss, 66 — Rites Pending
Jack W. Huss, 66, of 417 East Wiley Ave., died at 7:40 a.m. today at his home.
Arrangements are pending at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home.

Jack W. Huss, 66
Jack W. Huss, 66, Bluffton, died at his residence at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15,
following an extended illness. Death was attributed to lung cancer.
Born Feb. 3, 1938 in Wells County to Paul and Marjorie Stoner Huss, his marriage to the
former Joyce Rothgeb took place in Bluffton May 11, 2002. She survives.
A 1956 graduate of Bluffton High School, he served six years in the United States Army
Reserves and National Guard. A member of the Sons of American Legion, Bluffton Post, he
worked for the Bluffton Sewage Department for 42 years, retiring in 1999. He was also a
member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge of Decatur.
Survivors include a son, David, of Muncie; five daughters, Kelly Mullins, Bluffton, Tammy
King and Stacey Eicher, both of Decatur, Mrs. Bill (Kelly) Leonard of Muncie, and Angie
Waldron of Fort Wayne; a brother, Jerry Marshall of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
A sister, Sharon Holley, and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
Services at 1:30 p.m. Saturday will be held at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral
Home with Chaplain Karen Kosberg officiating. Burial will follow at Six Mile Cemetery.
Calling at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and two hours prior to
services Saturday.
Memorials may be made to Parkview Home Healthcare and Hospice.

Phoenix Kelly, Infant
Phoenix John Kelly was stillborn at 7:31 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 at Lutheran Hospital in
Fort Wayne.
Survivors include the parents, Travis and Kristina M. Trimlett Kelly of rural Fort Wayne;
a brother, Chase Hunter Kelly at home; grandparents, Steve and Joan Kelly of Bluffton,
David and Tammy Trimlett of Cedar Lake, and Steve and Evelyn Asher of Fort Wayne; and
great-grandparents, Doris Harris and Virginia Robison, both of Bluffton, Tom and Sandra
Lesh of Lowell, and Harold and Linda Love of Fort Wayne.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Kim
Yergler officiating. Calling hours are Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Thoma/Rich,
Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home in Bluffton. Preferred memorials to the family.
