Good afternoon Natalie,Yesterday you wrote, "...I am seeking information about my
gg-grandparents, Rachel McCullick and Levi Phillips. Rachel was born in VA about 1821,
Levi in NY in 1813, and they were married in Wells Co., IN in 1949. I believe Rachel was
related to the Henry McCullick family, but the only Rachel I find died in 1877 and
"my" Rachel died in 1895 in Crawford Co. WI. The 1870 Crawford Co. census also
listed an Elizabeth Jones living with Levi and Rachel .............. possibly an older
relative. Can anyone shed any light on this? Any leads would be
appreciated...."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I
just saw your post and am excited to hear from another McCullick cousin! If your Rachel
lived in Wells County, IN, the odds are very high that she was closely related to the
McCullick family who settled there in the mid-1830s. ......... At this time, I know of 5
daughters who were born to Martha (!
TWIBELL) and Henry McCULLICK, Jr. : Rachel, Elizabeth, "Lindy" or Lydia Ann,
Mary Jane, and Penelope. ...... Elizabeth married ______ MARTIN; Lindy married Edward Z.
MILLER; Mary Jane married St.Claire ROUSH; and Penelope 1st married Michael PACE and
later married Silas JONES. ....... I don't know who Rachel married nor do I have any
of their birth / death dates, so I can't conclusively confirm that your Rachel is
Martha and Henry, Jr.'s daughter. ........ However, I can tell you that the 1830
Tyler County, VA / WV federal census shows there is 1 female in the 6 to 10 year range
living in the Henry McCULLOUGH / McCULLICK, Jr., household, which would closely fit in
with your Rachel's age. ........ Additionally, it is the oldest son, John, and his
wife, Lavina (JARRETT), who move their family to Crawford County, WI, in the late 1850s.
So, it looks like your Rachel and Levi may have moved with them. ........ I would enjoy
corresponding further with you about your !
/ our family. Feel free to contact me at: Gen908(a)webtv.net ... or ... our908(a)webtv.net.
'Bye for now,Karen
