Considerable wrong information here. I have a copy of James T. Mossburgh's history
written by himself on February 11, 1895. It reads: "To shome it may consern. The
writer of this narrative James T. Mossbur was born in Henery County Indiana, Januarythe
30th 1827 of poor but respectabel parents, my Father being a minister of the gospel, in
the Christian church denomination for a period of Forty years at the age of about two
years my parents moved into Deleware County and settled on White River where they owend a
small tract of land, a short distant above the present sight of Muncie Town, after living
there about Fore years, my Father sold out there and bought 80 acres of land in the woods
about two miles futher up the River on what was caled juber branch, he bought this of the
government at one dollar and twenty five cents an acre. Deleware County was then a new
country a few Indians and wild game in abundence, my Father improved this land and lived

Broather Daniel Mossburg lives to this day. In October 1837 my Father in company with his
family moved to Wells county and settled on the 80 acre lot near, where I now live, he
only lived one yeare after settling heare, leaving my mother with seven children to make a
living as best they could in this a wilderness country. At the age of 19 years I maried
to Isabella Mounsey on the 29th day of january 1846. By esquier James Merriman at the
residence of her broather John Mounsey one mile west and two miles south of Liberty
Center. We commenced to keep house here where I now live the 12th day of March the same

at his residence one mile south of Liberty Center On the 6th day of May 1882 Mary my
second wife Died, we had lived together 12 years 3 months and 3 days she died of
consumption, had no children On the 29th day of March 1883 I was Maried to Sarah C.
Hodgson By Elder Samuel H. Swain at his residence one mile east of Warren with this woman
I have lived to this day nearly 12 years thus time and sircumstances pass away and soon we
