I am a descendent of Gottfreid Bumgarner. I have attempted to reach you several times but the emals are bounced back as unknown. Hope this one will make it. Anyway, Gottfreid's son, Frederick, is my ggg grandfather. I am one of the granddaughters of Samuel, who was the son of Alfred Solomon and I believe that Alfred was the son of Thomas who was Frederick's son. There isn't much information on the Bumgarner line as to Frederik on down. I hope that you have some information to help fill in the blanks for me. Hope to hear from you soon.

William was Isaac Singer's brother! I just got Isaac death record today and they don't list parents or his wife's name. It has to be his third or fourth wife and it is in Madison County Anderson, Indiana. So I will call them tomorrow plus let the Genealogy Dept at the library in Anderson plus the State one know. That really has me up set. I know the answers. Margaret Lee and Isaac Singer had two children. If you will e-Mail me I will send you what I have so far. Fosterqt(a)aol.com

I would be interested in more information about this Jones family, if you have any.
My Great-grandfather OLIVER PERRY JONES b:1840 Indianna does not fit this time frame but perhaps is a descendant of the Oliver Perry Jones in your Posting.
I have OLIVER PERRY JONES b: 14 may 1840 in Pike Co, Indiana.
(1880 census has Oliver born in Virginia = enumerator error)
I have a copy of OLIVER'S military papers that show:
(He called the civil war the "WAR OF THE REBELLION") :>))
22 July 1862 mustered as a private in Company "A"100th Regiment Illinois Volunteers.
08 Aug 1864 transferred as Corporal to Company "K" 1st U.S. Engineer Corps.
30 June 1865 Honorable discharge at Nashville ,TN.
23 Aug 1866 in Naperville, Du Page County, Ill
(directly west of Chicago)
Married Catherine Elizabeth Hood b: Nov 1848 Saratoga, N.Y.("Katie" he called her)
1880 census for Crystal, Tama County, Iowa lists Oliver, his wife Catherine , and five children, including my grandfather: Joseph Harrison Jones.
(Oliver's father born Virginia, mother born S. Carolina)
(Catherine's father & mother both born in NY)
(children all born in Iowa)
......Indiana, Illinois, Iowa...he is slowly edging west.
Family story has him coming to California in 1887 on a real estate promotional train ( I suppose he was with his wife and children)
Oliver's children were born :
CARRIE R JONES 04 JULY 1868
ROBERT F JONES 01 NOV 1869
MAMIE M. JONES 07 OCT 1872
JOSEPH HARRISON 16 DEC 1875
? ETTIE JONES JULY 1878( died at 13 yrs?about 1891)
1900 census for Kern county, CA
(Dist #5 Enum dist #33 pg. 6)
lists Oliver, his wife Catherine and only Joseph.
(JOSEPH HARRISON JONES married my grandmother LOURENA ALICE WILKINSON in
Maricopa, Kern County, CA 1904)
Oliver was a physician, (assisted in my grandfather Joseph's
children's birthing).
Oliver was horticulturist/nurseryman, real estate investor in Santa Ana, California.
He played the violin well.
Oliver received his service disability pension from 19 May 1910
through to his death 12 Aug 1912.
Oliver was buried Fairhaven Cemetery, Santa Ana, Orange County, CA.
Well that was more than I thought I had, but now, I would like to tie this family ancestors and descendants together.
Related surnames:
ATSATT,SMITH, JONES, DIMICK, NOBLE, EISLAND
Any information or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The John Coon (Kuntz) who is supposed to be the father of my Samuel Coon was reportedly born in 1783. I don't know when or where he died. His family may have been associated with the Hill Church, Oley Hills, Pike Twp, Berks Co., PA. He and his wife Susan Welty are supposed to have had 5 boys and 3 girls. One of the boys was my gggrandfather Samuel Coon, born 16 Mar 1820, OH and died 30 Nov 1899, Jones Co., IA. I do not know the names of his siblings. Samuel married Maria Walston, dau. of Levin.

Michael,
I have info on my Cronkhite line from 1900 to the present. Don't know if it is the one you are looking for.
My GGrandfather, Wellington moved from Wisc. to Calif. about 1900. His father was Isaac Hoag Cronkhite from N.Y.
Our anscestors go back to Herck Siboutsen in 1640 N.Y. and before that in Languedoc, Holland. If any of this sounds familiar, we may be related. Please e-mail me at the above adress or at ccronk1(a)hallmark.com. The first is my wife's work and the second is my work. Hope to hear from you soon.
