Mary,
You might want to check Bluffton Library also. I forgot to mention that. It has a good Indiana room also. And if you have time Anderson,Marion and Ft Wayne are excellent.

If you need some information from a library (any library) and can't go there, you can write or call them. They all have different ways of doing things, but it only takes a minute to find out what they are. The Wells Co. library has an internet website, and a genealogy form on it that you can print, fill out, and mail to them. Copies are cheap and the help is free!
Here's their website address:
http://www.wellscolibrary.org/genform.htm
Best wishes,
Cathy

Does anyone know the relationship between Alexander McDaniel and Abraham McDaniel, both buried at Bloxom?
Also, is there anything that can be done about the overturned headstones there?

Hi Mark,
I have a question for you regarding the Civil war burials. I have a Charles
Peter Hopkins who was in both the 7 K Kansas Div and the 7th M Ind Cavalry.
I know he died in Indiana but not sure where he is buried. I have he died in
1883 was married to Lydia Jane Goliver in Wells County Indiana. I am hoping
that maybe you will have him in your records? Any info you may have on him
would be great. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Debbie Christie-Rogers

Mary,
I compile burial sites of Indiana CW soldiers for the Sons of Union Veterans
Grave Registration Project. I recently completed about 98% of Wells county
CW burials.
John Craven was in the 34th Ind Infantry,co A. He enlisted 10/4/1861as a
Corporal. He was wounded at Champion Hill,Mississippi on 5/16/1863 and died
of those wounds on 6/21/1863.
I show him buried in Fairview Cemetery in Wells County.
Fairview is in Lancaster Township about 3/4 mile east of Bluffton.
Hope this helps.

Joann,
The Indiana Room at Bluffton Library has the records of Bloxsom Cemetery. I have a William Bloxsom that was buried there in 1914, so the records must go farther than 1907.That is the only person I have recorded there because he was a CW soldier.
Vi Tester at the library can help you.

Would someone please look up a John (W.?) Craven burial at Bluffton, Wells IN. He died before 1880 and I believe he might have been in the civil war. He left a daughter Ellen Craven who was at least 15 in 1880 so born before 1865. Thanks Mary Craven Abrams
