Jacob Meyer and Elizabeth Strahm Meyer were my maternal great grandparents. While I have extensive information on the Strahm family line, I have very little on the Meyer side. I am also interested in any information on him. I can provide ancestor information on my portion of the Meyer/Strahm family. None of my family has been able to provide much data on the Meyer side. To find that he was born in Bern Switzerland is also news to me, but does go hand in hand with what I know about the Strahms. Looking forward to any response.

Mrs. Lena Baumgartner, 45, discovered in a dying condition late Tuesday afternoon by her daughter, Genevieve, 7, at her home at the extreme east end of Townley street, was a victim of a heart attack, according to a report furnished by Coroner William Thoma after he had made an investigation. The fatal seizure is believed to have been superinduced by a complication of bronchial pneumonia. Her death occurred about 4 o'clock.
Contrary to first reports, Mrs. Baumgartner, had not been alone in her home, the daughter having been home from school on account of a slight illness. The daughter stated that her mother had gone into a small areaway leading to a flight of stairs, and when she heard an unusual noise that caused her some alarm she opened the door to the stairway and discovered that her mother had collapsed and fallen to the floor. The daughter ran across the street to summon men at work there and they reported that Mrs. Baumgartner expired just after they reached the house.
The deceased was a daughter of Robert and Ella (Christman) Bennett and was born in Bluffton, on May 9, 1885. She was a lifelong resident of Bluffton. Her marriage to Peter Baumgartner took place in this city on July 6, 1918. The husband survives, with three children born to this union, namely Ada Maxine, Paul E. and Genevieve Baumgartner.

Two sisters; Mrs. Allie VanDine and Miss Hope Bennett, are deceased.
The funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday afternoon at the First Reformed church, with Rev. W. M. Eliott officiating. Interment will be made in the Fairview cemetery.
