Oh my, coz. This is quite a story. "Sim was known for outlawry." "Sim and
his clan"! Where does that come from? I wouldn't be so fast to accept the Voyles
account. We, however, got the trial records. It seems that John Voyles was a difficult
quarrelsome man who kept a store in Fredericksburg, IN. He was much younger than Simeon
who was married to his sister. They had words about a debt that John owed Simeon, and
Simeon left the store. John followed him and attacked him. Simeon ended up stabbing him
with a broken pocket knife on what is now Rt 150.
