Subject: [Washington Co IN] COUNTY ASYLUM 1836 ERA - FREDERICK WAUGHTEL
I am looking for any information on a county asylum in Washington County,
Indiana involving either or both Polk Township and Franklin Township. I
have been writing queries to Jennings County and all along most likely
should have been writing to Washington County. I just this a.m. came across
an old query of mine and would like to know what might be available, if
anything, that might shed some light on the following (in quotes):
"Then on May 2, 1836 Edmund Turner, Constable, was re*u*mbursed for
conveying Frederick Waughtel to the asylum. (the county had a Poor Asylum at
that time)".
This quoted item was sent me by the late Miss Lulie Davis, a noted
genealogist/family historian. I don't know why I never asked her the above
question. But hopefully someone reading this might know of the institution
I am referring to.
Thank you for any help anyone can give me.
