Frederick Waughtel, my 3d great grandfather, per a newspaper article
(either Washington County or Jennings County but most likely Washington
County) was indicated as being "conveyed" to the poor asylum by Constable
Turner. I have never been able to find anything else on this - whether he
was released NOR if he died while there. Are there any records "floating
around" that I must have overlooked somewhere that might shed some light on
this matter? Where was the asylum at that time? Any help will be
gratefully appreciated. I am "assuming" he had to have been close to 60
years old at that time, if not older. His son James lived in Jennings
County, his daughter Jane lived in Washington County (she married in 1838 &
1840 both times in Washington County) - he had another daughter & son that
I have never been able to find anything on, then Abraham who would have
12-14 at that time. He had been widowed (Patsy Knot/s) and re-married
(Susanna Boatman) 1828. All 5 known children are throught the marital
union with Patsy, who evidently died prior to his marriage to Susanna.
