I am related through Samuel's son Willis Lee and Samuel's grandson Washington Hale
Lee.
According to the 1850 Indiana Gazette, there was no town named Jackson in Washington Co.,
but rather it was a township in the lower southeast portion of the county. The town
located in that township is Martinsburg and the township borders the northern edge of
Harrison Co., IN.
Vernon Township is due west of Salem, the county seat of Washington Co., and borders
Orange County on the west. This area is farm land and there are no surviving towns. This
area is just north of Livonia in Washington Co.
Didn't know if you had this information or not.
Alan Miles
