A reference is made to a G.B. Suddarth in a two page description of Hardinsburg (pgs
785-786) in the book I purchased in Salem, IN. at the Wash. Co. Historical Society
museum/library -- the John Hay Center. "In January, 1838, a plat of thirty-six lots
was laid off on Section 3, in what is now Posey Township, by Aaaron Hardin, who named the
place Hardinsburg..... At an election held March 24, 1849, it was decided to incorporate
the town, .... It was incorporated under the State Statute of 1833, and the petion for
incorporation had fourteen signers. The present officers are: Trustees, S.B. Cook, W.E.
McIntosh, G.B. Suddarth, ...." It mentions various businesses, etc. but doesn't
mention the churches. Check with someone at the John Hay Center. I'm sure they could
help you.
