Antoinette,
Asylum could have been a reference to the poor asylum or the insane
asylum. In Monroe County, a transportation charge to a poor asylum is
authorized by city commissioners and noted in the commissioners'
minutes. So check that out using the date as a guideline. If you come
up empty handed there, contact Alan January at the Indiana State
Archives in Indianapolis. They have large index of individuals who were
committed to the insane asylum. I don't think that particular index is
online.

both marriages in Washington county, and I have a copy of the record

each of these. I have all of Jane's children, by both Stark & Summa.
