Max ABRAHAMS went to Louisville Sunday morning. He returned Monday night with his wife who
had been visiting relatives in the city for a week.
W.F.HANCOCK, who was formerly in the stave business with his father J.Z. HANCOCK, at this
place, is attending the New Albany Business College.
Little Gilbert BATT, while at Jas. NEWKIRK's in the country last Wednesday, fell off
of a fence and broke both bones of the left leg. Dr. DOOLITTLE reduced the fracture.
On Sunday evening of last week Frank ROBERTSON, of Clifty, was kicked by a horse almost
severing the left ear. Had he been closer to the animal it probably would have been
instant death.
Burglars are reported numerous in surrounding towns. If you are afraid of burglars we will
receive your money on subscriptions before they strike this town. Now is the time to renew
and subscribe.
(now I realize there are no family names in that last note - but what a sly way to request
payment---gotta love it!)
