This last son, Martin, was JUST found on an ancestry dot com 1880 census
for Yell County, AR with John, Hannah and John Harvey. John was 72 and
Hannah 62 on that census with John's parents shown a born NC NC. Hannah
was a part of the Quaker Blue River MM in Salem, but was dismissed. She
comes from a long line of Quakers: Macy, Coffin, Starbuck, Gardner, as well
as Overman, Newby etc.
I'm interested in finding John Hobb's parents, more about Martin Hobbs, and
why a man, in his 60-70s with two of his younger children and wife, would
go all that way from Salem Washington County, IN to Rover, Yell County,
AR. It couldn't have been easy in the 1870-80s. And then why would they
return to IN to die and be buried in Highland Cemetery there.
Hopefully,
Kay McGee
