Audrey's post today:
In the 1900 census Ellen Marion is 16 years old and living with her family
in Union Twp. Effingham Co. IL
In 1910 she is still living with her family but she is called Ellen Holler,
she is 26 and listed as a widow. She has a child, Raymond, almost two
years
old. In 1920 she is married to Walter W. Holler and living in Mason, IL.
They have three children, Raymond B, John W and Ester S. Holler.
Walter Holler died 3 Sept 1924 in Mason. I could not find Ellen in 1930
but
there is a boy 10 years old named Russell Holler living with her parents
William and Anna Marion. Does this information sound familiar to you?
If I
can find anything at all about Ellen or her family I will let you know.
If you would like copies of this information just contact me at

send them to
you.

Mary Ella Holler is buried in Oakridge Cemetery, Effingham, IL. From the
information I found she died giving birth . The baby also died. A note says
they are buried together. Records show they died on April 3, 1923 and were
buried April 5, 1923. Mary Ella was 39. The baby is listed as the child of
Walter and Mary Ella Holler. Walter Holler was buried September 4, 1924 beside
his wife and child.
Further search of records indicate that, Ester, who would have been about 8
years old when her parents died, was taken to an orphanage in Normal, McLean
Co. IL. She was 15 in 1930. Her brothers may also have been taken there but
by 1930 had reached an age where they could leave the home.
