I have been searching for the parents of Daid O Ford for many years. I am sure that they came from Va. but no proof. David O. is my ggg grandfather. David O. Ford first shows up when he marries Cathrine Borders.(Ky?) I have been corrected on this but not sure about it. I have been told that they were married in Washington County, In. They later moved to Sullivan County, In., where he must have had a hard time making a living, as there is some reference to the county poor house in southern indiana.
He was born abt 1807 in Va. and died abt 1872 in Indiana. After David's death, his wife Cathrine Borders Ford married her son's father-in-law, Iaasac Vorheese
David and Cathrine had seven children, the youngest Lemuel Ford is my gg grandfather.
I have tried census, land deeds and any other resourse that I can find.
Any more suggestions?
Rose
I am hoping to find someone that can help me locate the marriage of Samuel
Mahorney or Mahoney b. about 1835 in KY that married Mary Ann Hand (b. about
1850) in IN.
The death certificate of their daughter, Eldora (Dora) gives her parents
names.
Her siblings were Owen Mahorney, James B. Mahorney, Pauline Mahorney, Nancy
J. Mahorney and Myrtle Mahorney.
I found Samuel on the 1870 and 1880 census. He was in Washington Co., in
1870 and 1880 in Daviess Co.
I think he may have married in Washington County.
Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated!!

Mike,
I believe that Johann and David who came through in 1738 were my ancesters. Johan fought in the Revolutionary War and ended up moving from Pennsylvania to the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia where he died. Johan had a son named Peter who moved to Salem, Washington County, Indiana in the early 1800's. I descend from Peter. I could be wrong so I would really appreciate your thoughts on this information.

What is your source for Jesse's death in 1859? Did he die in Washington Co, IN? I don't see a probate record for him in the index for that county.
Please feel free to contact me at dorotheasmail-genealogy(a)yahoo.com
My first interest is in his wife Nancy Nicholson. She may be related to my Elijah Nicholson. Also Hughs intermarried with my Harrison line.

Here is what I have for Silas Beasley / Breazley:
After marriage to Bethana Hughes on 7 Oct 1830. Silas married Lodasea or Lodice Brock on 13 Jun 1844 in Washington Co, IN. Based on her age in the 1850 census this may have been a 2nd marriage for her. I don't know.
1850 Federal Census with Slave Schedule, Pages 343 & 344, Cherry Grove, Carroll County, Indiana - Breasly [sic] family consist of Silas (45, Farmer, IN), Lodasea? (42, KY), Isaac (18, Farmer, IA?), Jesse (15, IA?), Wm (15, IA?), Sally (13, IA?), Elizabeth (13, IA?), Thomas (10, IA?), Francis (9, male, IA?), Lacinda (2, IA?) & Louisa (1, IL?).
I think the "IA" in this census refer to Indiana rather than Iowa but I have no proof so I listed it as written.
Does this fit with your research at all?

Hi Shirley - I'm not positive Fanny's maiden name was Hughes.
Indiana Marriages to 1850 Index - Indiana State Library, Genealogy Database, BROWN, FANNY & Hughs, SANDERS married in Washington County on 5-1-1828.
Indiana Marriages to 1850 Index - Indiana State Library, Genealogy Database, John B Stewart married Fanny Hughs on 3 Apr 1849 in Washington County, Indiana. Book F, Page 89.
I don't have proof one way or the other that these 2 Fanny's are the same one. Just trying to keep an open mind that her 1st marriage may not have been to our John Stewart.
What do you think?

I believe Jesse Hughes/Hughs first wife was Nancy Nicholson.
US GenWeb Project - http://www.usgenweb.org/, Jessamine County, Kentucky - Early Jessamine County Marriages 1799 - 1811 Index, Jessamine County, Kentucky - Nancy Nicholson & Jesse Hughs married 14 Mar 1799.
His second marriage was: Indiana Marriages, 1800 to 1941, Griffith, Charity & Hughs, Jesse - Marriage Date: 04 Aug 1825. Marriage Location: Indiana, Washington County.
I have not been able to identify all his children but do suspect the following are some of his children:
Francis 'Frankie' Hughs married William Schultz
Bethana Hughs married Silas Breazley. She died Bet. 1841 - 1844 based on his remarriage & the 1840 / 1850 census.
Benjamin Hughs married Harriet How
Based on census summaries I suspect he had about 19 children between the 2 wives. But you know how census summaries can be.
Do you have proof Martha Hughes who married Issac Brewer is the daughter of Jesse Hughes & Charity Griffin?

Hello fellow researchers!
I am hoping to find someone familiar with the family of Samuel Mahoney b.
about 1835 in KY and his wife Mary Ann (Hand?) b. abt 1850 in IN.
I found Samuel on the 1870 in Washington Co., IN and in 1880 he was in
Daviess Co., IN.
Can't find either of them in 1900.
Their daughter's death certificate (Eldora Mahoney Dyer) states her parents
were Samuel Mahoney and Mary Ann Hand. The informant was her son, Elmer.
Samuel and Mary had the following children according to the census:
Owen A. b. about 1865
James B. b. about 1868
Pauline b. about 1870
Eldora b. Dec 17, 1870
Nancy J. b. about 1874
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
