We are all from the same family (Johannes & Anna Flinner). You descend from their son Nicholas to Abraham to Squire to Ira to Vanda.
Take your time on the site & click on "albums", "history", "file cabinet", etc., (at the top), look through the different "categories" like "Queries". Don't be afraid to ask questions, we all started that way. There are so many helpful people on this site. I descend through Nicholas too. I would think you'd find quite a lot for Nicholas & his son, Abraham b. 1786 d. 1874 he was early settler in Washington Co., IN. He was a brother to "my" Isaac, that stayed in Washington Co., VA. All the Fleenors, Fleeners and most of the Fleners we've ever found are all descended from Johannes & Anna Flinner who arrived in Philadelphia from Germany in 1754. An earlier group of Flinners were already settled in MD. when our group moved from PA. to MD. The name for our particular Flinner group changed to the current three versions after the family moved from MD. to SW VA. (Washington Co.) The next generation moved to TN. and through the Cumberland Gap to settle in KY. and IN. and later to points west. KY. seems to use Flener most while IN. settlers used Fleenor and Fleener most often. A later group of Flinners arrived in the mid 1800s, but that later group retain the spelling as Flinner and we're still trying to find out what our German connection was between the three Flinner family groups. Your Vanda Fleenor isn't in my data base, but probably is known to some of our other family researchers. I'll send you an invitation to our website. Try to come to our reu!
nion in June.
