Eldora M. Miller, 89, of Lafayette, formerly of Oxford, died at 5:15
p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Regency Place in Lafayette, where she
had been a patient for the past month. Born Dec. 12, 1919, in Warren County, she was the
daughter of the
late William and Daisy Banning Clawson. She had resided in Oxford since
1942. On Feb. 15, 1942, she married Dale B. Miller in Oxford, and he preceded her in death
in June 1977. Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Pine Village High School and attended Purdue
University and Martin Beauty School. She
was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church for 50 years; was
past matron and member of the Order of the Eastern Star Beulah Chapter
for more than 50 years, and served as grand representative for the
Order of the Eastern Star Oxford and Otterbein chapters. She was a
member of the former Zeta Chapter, Delta Sigma Kappa sorority.Surviving
are a daughter, Margaret E. Boze of Lafayette; and two sisters, Louise
Kook of Monticello and Anna Belle Iddings of Glenview, Ill. She was preceded in death by a
sister, Zelma Martin; and 3 brothers, Walter, Wilbur and Arba Clawson. The
Order of the Eastern Star will conduct services at 1 p.m. Friday, with
a memorial service immediately following, at the Oxford United
Methodist Church, Pastors Linda Sproull, Charles Knott and Bruce Mowery
officiating. Entombment in Oxford West Cemetery Mausoleum at a later
date.In lieu of
