Subject: Re: [INVIGO] Woodlawn Cemetery - DEAN
After many years of trying to break down 'brickwalls', I've
recently discovered that sons of Eli DEAN - a coal miner
from the UK who arrived in USA shortly after the end of the
Civil War - settled in Terre Haute City, Harrison Township:
William DEAN born Wales May 1859
Wife Mary
Son Willie born Illinois Apr 1887
Dau Mary born Indiana Aug 1892
Occupations:
1910 William senr Laborer in the Steel Mill
1930 Cemetery Watchman
1930 William junr Superintendent in the Steel Mill
Edward DEAN born Illinois 12 Dec 1873
Wife (1) 1900 Mary
Wife (2) 1908 Maud
Daughters:
Frances Mary [or Mary Frances]
Emma
Occupation:
Edward's WW1 Draft Registration Card [1918] is indistinct
but Employer's name looks like Highland Iron & Steel Mill,
Terre Haute.
Based in the UK, and embarking on American records for the
first time, I am on a very steep learning curve, so please
bear with me. I would be extremely grateful for any
help/guidance in locating burials and/or obituaries.
