Hi, I tried to reach you through Ancestry but was blocked. I don't have anything on
Mary Duncan but have a marriage record for Ann Piety and Samuel Ferguson Chambers:
Indiana Marriages to 1850
about Chambers, Samuel F.
Spouse 1: Chambers, Samuel F.
Spouse 2: Piety, Anna
Marriage Date: 24 Dec 1831
Marriage Location: Indiana
Knox County
Ann Chambers is in Knox Co., Indiana in 1840 with who appear to be her two daughters, Mary
E and Nancy J. who show up with their mother in 1850 Ogle Co., Illinois and is married to
James Taylor.
Samuel Ferguson Chambers b. 8 Nov. 1810 Knox Co., Indiana, Died 18 Sept 1838 in Knox Co.
He is buried in Chambers cemetery in Knox Co. and can be found on FindAGrave.
I don't know exactly when Ann married James Taylor who may have been married before
since there are Taylor children who are older that Mary and Nancy Chambers and some
younger ones in 1850 Ogle Co., IL., so I just took a guess of about 1843.
Two of Ann's grandchildren, Jasper Sanford and Fremont (James Fremont) Sanford also
living with the Taylor family in 1860 Ogle Co.
Dtr. Mary who married 26 Jan 1854 Newton Adam Sanford died 13 Oct 1858, Ogle Co. James
Fremont Sanford became a Judge in Colorado.
Nancy J. Chambers b. 21 Oct. 1837 in Indiana not too long befoe her father died, married
James S. Johnson 20 Sep 1855 in Ogle Co., IL. She died 12 Feb. 1891 in Ogle Co., and is
buried in Washington Grove cemetery.
There are old letters in the Sanford family that spoke of grandma and grandpa Taylor so it
took a lot of searching to find out how they could be the grandparents.
Ann's mother might be living near her in the 1840 census for Knox County. There are a
lot of images to search through if you haven't already done so. You certainly have
done a great job with your family tree.
Elsie
