David,
Thank you. I'll contact one of my sisters and we will hunt the book . She
found a cemetery stone that goes back that far for a William Conover in one
of the Terre Haute cemeteries. We aren't sure who the father was of Ralph
R. Samuel S. and William Conover that I'm descended from but the last 2
join Ralph/ Rafe in Terre Haute by 1857.

Re: When did Tichenor family come to Vigo?
Have a copy of record that reads:
"Biram Tichenor purchased land on 6 Nov 1817 in Sec 18, Township 10, Range
9".
This is from a book titled
"Early Land Entries from the Tract Book 1816-1817"
Compiled by LaVerne Anstead Hughes 1970
Spc 292.377245, Vigo County Public Library, Terre Haute, Vigo, IN.
End of record......
Note: In 1817 this was then in Sullivan County, Indiana (1816-1818).
Sec 18, Township 10, Range 9 became what is Linton Township in Vigo
County, IN in 1818.
Biram (Byram) Tichenor was the eldest son of Peter Tichenor and Francis
Cook Tichenor, born in Nelson Co. KY, who may
have been here as early as 1813 or 1814.
