When did the Tichenor family come to Vigo? I've been wondering who came
along with the family of Ralph R. Conover and his wife Ellen/ Elnor Snedeker
in 1838/39 from Newark, New Jersey. Ralph was a master brick and stone
mason. He lived on Mulberry St. in Newark, NJ.

OF the several sites I watch, but rarely post on, Vigo is one of the
busiest. As with any site, it will pop into vigorous activity if the
query is something people can help on, and then may go dormant.
Among the family names you list is Tichenor. That is a rare name, and I
think almost all people of that surname go back to Martin Tichenor, a 1666
settler of Newark, NJ. I've no known connection to the family, but they
were in the same group as many of my ancestors.
Vigo has a number of old NJ families -- Genung (Yes I know that
connection, thanks to this site), and even Hull (again thanks to this
site). So throw in something people can bite on and you'd be surprised
how many nibbles you get.
