I did some searching for you. I'm not researching this family. The 1900 census shows
Rosa M. d/o Delilah married to (name looks like) Charles Montgomery. Rosa b. May 1879 with
2 children. Right below are:
Deliah Gibson b. May 1827 age 73 WD 12 children 9 living.
Her son, James A. Gibson b. Oct 1855 age 44 WD is also living with her with his 2
children, Edward b. Mar 1880 age 20 b. IN and Leona R. b. July 1885 age 14.(Census notes
g-son and g-daughter).
I went back to 1880 census for James and found him with wife Rutha, age 26 and Franklin
age 9 son, Walter age 5 son, Oma age 2 daughter and Eddie age 3 mos. (Mar. noted)
I found a marriage under Ancestry for James Gibson in Vigo Co. to Ruthey McCnannahan 20
Jun 1875 but not sure this is same James. Age of children, Franklin and Walter in 1880
makes this date questionable.
Found 2 marriages (you may already have this) on the Vigo Co. site for John Gibson and
Sarah Huff 16 Jul 1843 and to Lucinda Persons 21 Feb 1850.
1850 census shows John Gibson married to Lucinda. Children were Adaline age 6 and John age
4 which means they were children of his first wife.
1860 census he's married to Delilah. Children were
Adaline and John (first wife's children); Lucinda age 8 born about 1851 who should be
Lucinda's child. She may have died from child birth.
Since John married Delilah in 1852 the other children would seem to be Delilah's
children: Isabell age 7, James 4, Ira M. age 3 and Marion age 2.
1870 Children were Ira, age 13, Marion age 11 who were Delilah's children. Malissa
was not in 1860 census so, most likely, not Delilah's child unless she was not listed
and was a twin of Marion.
If I find anything else I will let you know. Hope this helps.
