in trying to peice together the mystery of burials in the cemetery which became that of
the Glenn Home, it has been said by many Home residents from the 1940's that there
were soldier / veteran graves that they put flags on each year. Whatever this burial land
was, the orphanage began burying their children in it starting in 1908. We only have
about 26 names of children buried there, however according to the reports of these former
residents there were MANY more graves than that- marked with wooden markers.
The cemetery is barely accessible now, and only one gravestone has ever been found. The
mystery of who might be buried there besides the Glenn Home children is one I'd like
to eventually solve if at all possible.
So, long story short, how / where would I find out about Civil War veteran burials without
knowing names in Vigo County?
