ok...I don't know if I can help but here it goes...
I am a descendant of Bartholomew Ferrand, Sr. born in 1792 (tombstone)(some have him born
1796)(1792 would put him born in Virginia)(while 1796 puts him born in Kentucky as he
states on census records)(Kentucky State was formed from Kentucky County, Virginia, in the
late 1790s). On that 1860 census you see J. D. Ferrand (or how ever you wish to spell,
it's been found several ways) on page 22 of that census record, page 23 lists the
above Bartholomew but spelled Ferrin.
It is my belief that Bartholomew, Sr. and this J. D. are brothers and/or cousins. Most of
us who have worked on the Ferran/Ferrand/Farren/Farrand/Ferrin, etc.... have yet to make
that connection.
Bartholomew's father was John Ferrand, born 1774, unknown to place; died 1844 in
Morgan County, Indiana. Wife is Sarah Carroll, born 1774 in Virginia; died 1852 in Morgan
County, Indiana.
From Virginia, to Kentucky, to Jennings County, to Morgan County,
(both Counties of Indiana) then finally to Prairie Creek, Vigo County, Indiana.
Within my family a few of the older generations tried to piece the puzzles together
but skipped a generation. That skipped generation is found on that same page 22 at the
bottom, Hiram Ferrin is mine!
If you wish to have more info email me at kdxdot(a)centurytel.net ~ just let me know where
abouts you fit in.
ps ~ I may have been too wordy so hopefully I didn't lose you!
