My name is John Michael Larimer. I was born in Vigo County and
Terre Haute has been my home of record all my life but my profession
has taken me to many countries, presently London, England.
I am interested in obtaining information regarding the LARIMER
surname in Vigo County. I'm afraid I have very little information to
date as follows:

Dates appearing above are, for the most part, estimates.
John F. (Franklin) LARIMER and Lenora M. (Margaret) COWGER are my
parents.
I believe my grandfather John H. LARIMER listed above had at least
one brother, Frank LARIMER, who reportedly travelled with a wild
west show.
It is my understanding that there are records of a Wm LARIMER
owning a large dairy farm property South of West Terre Haute (Sugar
Creek 1895). The property is reported to have included a grist mill,
sawmill and coal shaft. A "Larimer Hill" location appears in this
general area on some maps. I have no information on the history or
origin of "Larimer Hill" and I do not know if this Wm LARIMER might
be related to my Vigo County LARIMERs listed above.
Any information on the LARIMER surname in Vigo County prior to 1900 or
identification of sources for same would be very much appreciated.
I enjoy regular access to genealogical resources here in London for the
United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland) including birth,
marriage and death certificates through the Public Records Office and
would be happy to conduct research or obtain certificates should
anyone require assistance
Sincerely,
John M. Larimer
