Obituary of Henry Watts, Saturday, Jan. 26, 1907
The funeral of Henry Watts will be held at 1:00 Sunday afternoon from his late residence
in Nevins Township, and burial will be at the Watts cemetery near his home. Mr. Watts was
one of the oldest settlers of Nevins Township. He came to the state in 1851 and settled at
the place where he died. He leaves the following children: Samuel, Francis, Daniel,
Andrew, William, Maggie, Mrs. John White of Burnett, and Mrs. Mattie Vaught of Rosedale,
and a widow.
Death of Samuel C. Watts, Sunday, Aug. 27, 1933
BRAZIL, Ind., Aug. 26 -- Samuel Watts, formerly of Terre Haute and this cit., died at the
Clay county hospital this morning from a fractured vertebra which he sustained Thursday
night when he walked in his sleep from his room on the second floor of the home of his
nephew, Ross Leachman, at Clay City, Thursday night and fell from the roof. Watts is said
to have climbed out of the window of his room to the roof of a one-story addition and fell
to the walk below. He was 70 years old and is survived by two brothers, Dan Watts of east
of Brazil and Francis Watts, of Terre Haute.
