The IBC is the Internet Biographical Collection that was released

were out there to promote free genealogy.
Ancestry.com cached the
websites,
so there would still be access to them, even if the original owner
took them
down. People thought it was a copyright violation. At first,
Ancestry.com
put the IBC on their paid subscription pages. Then, after receiving
complaints, they changed it to free access for everyone. Now, they have
pulled the project completely off their site.
