Hi:
I have an Abraham S, Sackrider married 1854 in Vigo Co., IL to Elizabeth
Fuson. They had a child, Lyman A. b 1856 Terre Haute. An infant b 1859
is buried in Woodlawn, T.H. Elizabeth died in childbirth in 1860 buried
New Harmony, Prairieton as was the infant Herbert b 1860. (A mysterious
Eliza A. Sackrider, w/o William died 1827 at age 24 and she is also in New
Harmony, Prairieton, although I have only library records and do not know if
she is in the same grave plot as Elizabeth and Herbert).
Abraham received land in the area (IN or IL) in 1853, shortly before his
marriage.
A Michael Bridegam/Brautigam died in 1842, his will includes a grandson
Abraham Sackrider. He mentioned leaving Abraham $100, to be given to him
when he became of age. Abraham's father had died and his mother had
remarried. His, mother Christine had an older brother who was name
Abraham (presumably Bridegam). Elsewhere, Abraham is mentioned as having
done some work in 1844 for R W Adams.
I can not resolve the conflicts in the above info nor can I find any census
records for Abraham etc. Lyman, the surviving child married (1873) in Clark
Co. IL , and died in Casey, IL (1935).
Can someone clarify any of the misc. info written above. This family has
been a struggle and I have not been able to fit them into the Sackriders of
Hutsonville, Crawford Co., IL
