Would like to locate anyone researching, or with knowledge of the following Harris family.
This family relocated from North Carolina (not sure where) to Indiana about 1849 or 1850.
They are found in Vigo County Indiana in 1860 (perhaps the 1850 census as well, not sure)
living in Linton. By 1880 they have moved to Sugar Creek, Vigo, Indiana. The names I have
are as follows:
~~Jacob born about 1814 in NC
~~Charlotte/Charlotta born about 1816 in NC or VA
~~Debra born about 1840 in NC
~~Wilson born about 1840 in NC
(I am assuming that Debra and Wilson were twins or 11 months apart)
~~Harden born about 1842 in NC
~~Dorena born about 1844 in NC
~~George born about 1846 in NC
~~Henry born about 1848 in NC
~~Elizabeth born about 1850 in IN (although subsequent census and other information
conflict on her birth year--census information after 1870 conflicts)
~~John born about 1852 in IN
~~Sabrina born about 1853 in IN
~~Alexander born about 1856 in IN
~~Amanda born about 1859 in IN
Elizabeth married Henry Tribble in IN and a couple of the others married folks from the
Manuel family in IN. I have researched Elizabeth fine (she was my 3rd great grandmother),
it is the rest of her family I am trying to locate information on (marriages, children,
deaths et cetera--anything on her parents as well).
In 1860, the value of the Harris real estate was $1500 and in 1870 it had increased to
$2400 (they farmed).
Any information very helpful, thanks!
