Hey
I've read several of your letters, because I have a mild interest in the Nevins family
and then the reference to Averilla Newgent wilson blew my mind. I am very interested in
her, she's my GreatAunt !!
I have a lot on the Newgent family!

Betty,
I want to apologize to the INVIGO list for having so much Parke Co
information in this and the last post. I thought we were talking on
INPARKE. Regardless, the Nevins family lived in Vigo County and just
crossed over the line into southern Parke. A lot of families did this,
especially if any members took part in coal mining, which was an employment
that could be obtained in northern Vigo as well as mainly Raccoon and
Florida Twps in Parke Co.
The Nevins family appears to have come to Vigo before some members went to
Parke.
About the Wm C Adams and Mary Sale family: I think Marlena and Malona are
the same person. So often given names were spoken differently from the way
they were spelled: Barbara was spoken Barbary, Margaret was spoken Margot,
Marjorie was spoken as Mijah, Jeremiah became Jamiah, etc. My notes
indicate that there was an infant Malone Sale who died in a previous
generation. I suspect Malona was named for him. It was Malona on her
marriage record.
I found Wm C Adams and Mary Sale on Ancestry, but I have no data beyond
that. My interest would be in carrying the families forward, specifically
Malona and any other sibs who might be buried at Mt Olivet. I don't have
the parents' burials in my notes.
I wrote Susan in error, should be Sarah Wilson who married John
Nevins. However, I have John William instead of Wills. I'm interested in
this Nevins family and would like to go backward and forward in order to
try to connect families of people I know are interred at Mt Olivet. I have
burial information for only John Nevins in the group you mentioned. He is
at Mt Olivet. Maybe we should take a descendancy off the list, though,
unless there is interest on the part of others.
I may want more on others, depending on what I can fit together from the
info about ancestors and descendants of George and Jemima. I have her as
Sarah Jemima Miller, by the way. Doesn't really make sense, since her
parents are recorded as David Wilson and Avey. (Ava?) Another one of
those name differences brought about by pronunciation.
