I wish to submit the following information to the list to see if anyone
knows anything about the Honey Creek Church (Regular or Primitive
Baptist) which was located at one time about ten miles south of Terre
Haute. If so, I would be very grateful if you would please let me know.

HONEY CREEK
Honey Creek Church, at Prairieton (about ten miles south of Terre Haute),
was organized by 1829 or earlier, and united with the Wabash District
Association. Early ministers of the church included Elders Benoni
Trueblood, Athel Staggs (ordained here in June 1834), Elijah Staggs, and
James Lee. Later ministers included Elders J. G. Foster, Thomas Drake,
Oliver F. Lee, John W. Hurst, and O. H. Reeves.

Bentley, Capps, Drake, Ferguson, Fitzpatrick, Foster, Hurst, Kercheville,
Kester, Lee, Mason, Ogle, Paddock, Pounds, Prichard, Reeves, Rigney,
Staggs, Thompson, Trueblood, Weeks (very incomplete list due to lack of
records).
