Hi all just an up-date and plea for help.
although I have gotten a lot of help so far, so thanks for any past,
present, and future.
I have:
1. Steward Coats(1806-???) m. Hannah ??? (1825-???)
2.Lorenzo D.(1838-???)m. Rebecca McAllister (1839-???)
3.Eva Belle(1874-1911) m.Samuel M. Rea(1864-1947)
3.Mary R.
2.Lorinda(1833-???)
2.Nelson(1842-???)
2.Amanda(1844-???)
2.Edwin(1846-???)
2.Sylvestor(1850-???)
2.Emily(1852-???)
2.Rachel(1854-???)
2.John H(1855-???)
2.Margeret J.(1857-???)
2.William A.(1860-???)
The dates of birth should all be consider "abt." as I calculated them
from the date when the 1850 census was taken.
Other than Lorenzo D. all the cildrens names are a best guess.
Penmanship and quality of the copy being the variable. I am pretty sure
on most though.
This census was in PA, and Steward is said to have been born there so I
Imagine the children were born there too.
Lorenzo D. was married in Indiana, Owen Co. according to the records I
have seen. I also have one person putting him in Vigo and Clay CO. also.
This could be as Eva Belle his daughter apparently is buried in the Terre
Haute area.
That is also where most of Eva Belle's children were born. Many
eventually moved to Michigan, but some relatives and descendants are
still in this area.
Lorenzo may also have been married to a Sarah J. Mizer but that is just
rumor at this time.
Hannah is a bit of a Mystery. She is young enough to be Steward's
daughter, but old enough to have been his wife(barely). I think she was
the mother of his children, but my prudish senses are having a hard time
with her age compared to his and the date of Lorenzo's birth. She would
have been thirteen, and with my daughter pushing 19 I'm having trouble
with that one.=-)
Again any and all help would be great
Thanks,Tim B.
